Prairie potholes dot the landscape everywhere on the prairies. Often surrounded by grasses and cattails, their surface reflects the surrounding colors.  In this painting, a glorious sunrise shows off its colors reflected in the still water of the slough. 
This is painted on a maple live edge slab allowing the beautiful waxed edge to follow the skyline.
