Longing For Spring

Layers of encaustic medium, encaustic paint, oil stick and pastel are used to create the depth of looking through branches of an apple tree.  Branches, blossoms and leaves are created through the use of various tools.  This painting shows the depth and transparency that can be achieved with the encaustic medium.
SIZE 8” Tondo
on Cradled Birch Panel – sides are painted and waxed to finish. 
Medium: Encaustic - Beeswax, Damar, Pigment, Oil Stick.
