Dreams, Goals, Resolutions, Reality
Nights will be dark but days will be light, wish your life to be always bright - Happy New Year.
2016 is just about relegated to the dustbin of history. A new year is on the horizon and for many of us, we set about making our yearly New Year Resolutions - lose weight, eat healthy, exercise or learn a new skill.
I have been thinking about goal setting for the new year. Like you, I have set resolutions in the past - usually vague, generalized statements about making some major change with no idea of how I was going to make it happen. So most of the time, those goals fall by the wayside in a week or so.
I can see many of you nodding your heads.
I am looking at 2017 as a year to challenge myself artistically - try new techniques and new mediums, teach more, share more, learn more and definitely paint more. It will be a year of exploration to hone my creativity and to develop my own style, my own voice and in the words of one of the first artists (Stephanie Lee) whose blog I followed, my wholeheartedness. So I have signed up for her online course The Wholehearted Artist - 12 weeks of thinking, creating, making, and embracing the truth of your wholeness. Stephanie is offering a early bird registration price until December 31, so if you are interested, get over to her site and sign up!
In my next post, I'll let you in on my goals for 2017. Plan on joining me in challenging yourself - no matter where you are in your artistic journey - or whether you are an artist at all! Creativity is in all of us and by sharing and growing together, we all become richer.
